A special night under the mistletoe with Notorious!
Saturday 10th December 2016, 7.30pm
Join Notorious for an extra special Christmas concert, and be the first to hear a brand new commission written specially for us by renowned choral composer Ēriks Ešenvalds. This carol will form the centrepiece of a magical evening of festive music exploring nature at Christmas time. The programme will also include our usual diverse selection of music, featuring everything from traditional Christmas favourites such as The Holly and the Ivy through to contemporary arrangements by Pentatonic.
Ešenvalds’s music has been described by critics as ‘beautifully atmospheric and fluid’, ‘striking’, ‘lingering’ and ‘luscious’, with this new piece set to become a festive favourite featuring lyrics inspired by Walter de la Mare’s poem ‘Mistletoe’.
The venue for this concert is the beautiful St John’s and St Peter’s Church (Ladywood ARC), which is one of our favourites due to both the wonderful architecture and great acoustics. Tickets are available now so book early here to avoid disappointment.
The choir are getting very excited because the concert marks the start of a special year for Notorious: our 20th anniversary! And what better way to celebrate than with a whole year of special music, concerts and reunions…so keep an eye out for more details soon!
